MEDIA AND COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP WAS ORGANIZED

Our Directorate General performed a Media and Communication Workshop with the participation of the personnel of 81 Provincial Directorates of Migration Management in order to contribute to the effective communication with foreigners in our country and host community.
The workshop, where the experts responsible for harmonization and communication works from 81 Provincial Directorates of Migration Management participated, started in Antalya with the opening speech of Mr. Dr. Aydın Keskin KADIOĞLU, Head of Harmonization and Communications Department. In his opening speech, Mr. Dr. Aydın Keskin KADIOĞLU said: “Migration is not just numbers nor statuses. Migration is a multi-faceted process involving human stories in it. One thing to keep in mind is that the application process of a foreigner takes a maximum of a few days while the harmonization process covers the entire process in which the foreigner is in the country. No matter how many foreigners we register, as long as we ignore the issue of harmonization in migration management, we cannot talk about a well-managed migration process. The social perception of migration is now being built through media companies and social media channels. Therefore, we cannot bypass communication on the matter of harmonization. The more accurately we use communication channels and the more we increase the awareness about migration in the host community, the more we can talk about a good migration management.
The Media and Communication Workshop where a training on the perception of migration in the media, television journalism, news writing techniques and social media will be provided for the personnel of 81 Provincial Directorates of Migration Management, will last 3 days. In the workshop where the services carried out by the Harmonization and Communication Department will be presented in addition to the trainings, it is aimed to set up a substructure so that the Directorate General of Migration Management can establish close relations with the media about harmonization.
