Residence Permit Applications Have Also Started to Be Made Through Notary Offices.


Foreigners who come to Türkiye legally for reasons such as trade, tourism, work, science, health and education can now apply for residence permits through notary offices. With the new implementation, it is aimed to facilitate the residence permit application process for foreigners who provide added value to Türkiye.


Thanks to the protocol signed between the Presidency of Migration Management and the Notaries Union of Türkiye, foreigners who come to Türkiye for the specified purposes have been given the opportunity to submit their residence permit application files through notary offices. Thus, by utilizing the notary network widespread throughout the country, more access points for residence permit applications have been provided.


It started on 17 July all over Türkiye

The implementation was launched as a pilot scheme in Ankara on 14 June 2024, and was put into practice across Türkiye on 17 July 2024.


How does the implementation work?

 
Foreigners who come to Türkiye for reasons such as tourism, trade, education and health tourism can submit their residence permit application files to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management in their province as well as notary offices. After the application is made in this way, the notary offices send the documents submitted to them to the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management for review and decision making. The final decision is made by the authorized personnel of the Provincial Directorates of Migration Management.


No Transactions Regarding Foreigners Under Temporary Protection and International Protection Can Be Made Through Notary Offices


Only residence permit application files are received through notary offices. No transactions regarding Syrians under temporary protection in Türkiye and foreigners under international protection can be carried out through notary offices.
